Coming Soon: Speculation for 1.6

  • Huge settings screen update with some new features, seven leave categories, and more customizability.
  • More features coming to the new notification area; including use-it-or-lose-it notification, count-down to accrual, auto-prediction, email backup reminder.
  • Possibly adding holidays to settings to view in the calendar.
  • Visual updates including ‘tap-overs’ for the arrow buttons and maybe a calendar animation.
  • I’m going to set the email backup to use HTML instead so it looks nicer and will be easier to read.
  • ??? Please send me your requests even if you think someone else already did! Many of the requests I’ve received will be rolled up into the next update.

Version 1.5

1.5 has been uploaded to Apple for review! There is a LOT of new code in this version so if you run across any bugs, please let me know immediately!

  • My apologies for having to change the interface but now the front page will now serve as a summary and drilling down into a combined table/calendar view. It takes a little getting used to but ends up being, in my opinion, much nicer.
  • When you accrue new time, it will appear in the new notification area at the bottom of the screen. I plan to add more features to it.
  • In-app archive allows user to select a date and archive all saved time previous to it. Archived time is attached to the email backup as a csv.
  • Calendar view added that allows users to enter/edit time quickly by tapping on the correct day. It also supports multi-day time input. Calendar should be locale-sensitive starting on Monday or Sunday where appropriate.
  • New interface design for the home screen. This will lay the groundwork for additional leave categories. 1.6 should have a total of 7 leave categories
  • Found a bug preventing editing of time in the fourth leave category. Fixed in 1.5
  • Found and fixed a performance issue with table scrolling.
  • Changing behavior of the alert view when user selects a date that has already been used. It’s now just a label.
  • New in-app note page for keeping notes on upcoming paid leave. Notes are attached to email backup as a text file.
  • Ability to tally time based on anniversary year now in addition to the “all time” and “this year.”

Tips

  • Swipe left or right on the table to delete saved time! iTookOff allows you to add deleted time back to your balances if you made a mistake.
  • To track comp time, set a category to accrue “Never” and use the “Add” time to add to it and “Deduct” to use it.
  • Make frequent use the email backup function. Always backup before you update, just in case!
